Messange For Christening

Sala Thai

on second and final evening in Bangkok, we ate at the hotel, in the restaurant "Sala Thai". Dinner promised original Thai cuisine as well as a demonstration of traditional Thai dances to the music as traditional Thai music.

The room where the dinner should take place was beautiful, made up as a pavilion of the 13th Century and completely decorated in dark teak. On the long sides of the room large tables for about 12 people were lined up. You had to come a little early to get the better places - and you had to take off his shoes before they could take place in the large sitting areas.

stood on the table menu cards and I'm one of them, of course, immediately stiebitzt and plugged in, I would have otherwise not noticed the menu, yes. In addition, all main meals were served at once, on a small tray.
to eat there were:

Tom Jurd Raummit Tha-Lay - Clear Seafood Soup
Nuea Whether Kreung Tet - Roast Beef with Herb
Sod Sai Kai - Stuffed Pork Omelette in
Pla Sam Rod - Fried Fish with Spicy and Sour Sauce
Gaeng Kari Gai - Yellow Coconut Chicken Curry
Kao Suey - Jasmine Rice Thai Khanom
Phol La May Sod - Thai Sweets and Fruits Fresh or
Cha Cafe - Tea or Coffee

presented menu competing kitchens of the three royal households of the past three kingdoms: Sukhothai, Chiang Mai and Ayuttahya.

Dinner began at 19.00 clock, then followed the dances at 20.30 clock. The food was very good and although not abundant looked like it was definitely enough - it was but it is also a hotel kitchen, and thus not as tasty as for example in Big Jim.

The dancers have also made a great effort but it was due to room size, of course, only a few dancers and the show at the Rose Garden a few years ago much more appealing and interesting. Somewhere there was this dinner just a little Touristennepp - just as there are in every country with tourism. After each dance featured the performers then always in Fotopose - which is not quite to fit, but then the show also allegedly took longer.

At the end there was an introduction to Thai Serviette, and there was very amusing results.

Nevertheless, it was a very nice evening - and even if the restaurant zusperrte about 21.30 clock, for us, the evening was far from over, waiting for it nor the Chandelier Bar and Whiskey with Herbert and Kay us.
